lyrics

Spell for going aboard the Bark of Re

O you who are great in your bark, bring me to your bark, so that I may take charge of your navigating in the duty which is alloted to one who is among the Unwearying Stars. What I doubly detest, I will not eat; my detestation is faeces, and I will not eat it, I will not consume excrement, I will not approach it with my hands, I will not tread on it with my sandals, because my bread is of white emmer and my beer of red barley. It is the Night-bark and the Day-bark who bring them to me, and the gifts of the towns are emptied on to the altar of the Souls of Heliopolis. Greetings to you, O Great One who acts in the rowing over the sky; the shens-cake which is in Thinis is that of which the dogs partake. I am not weary; I myself have come that I might save this god from those who would do him ebil, namely the pain allotted to thigh, arm and leg. I have come that I may spit on the thigh, tie up the arm and raise the leg. 'Go aboard and navigate', is the command of Re.
