Sonny92 I've got a bit of a soft spot for The Horn's weird black metal take on the Egyptian Book of the Dead. This is possibly his best album to date, with a greater prominence for the eastern sounds of ancient Egypt creating an even more atmospheric release. There's also a couple of his trademark dark ambient / spoken word incantations to break things up. Favorite track: Spell 181.

about

2017 brings yet another installment in the ever-growing series of blackened microtonal interpretations of the numerous Spells of the Ancient Egyptian Book of the Dead, a journey first embarked upon by A Demon Sheen in 1997.

It's hard to believe, but TWENTY YEARS HAVE PASSED.

In that time, The Horn has recorded 119 Spells from the Book, out of a total of 189 (there are more Spells around, but no more in the translated Book possessed by A Demon Sheen).

Spell 57 was created August 2016, and released as a single August 8, 2016.

Spell 127 was created in early 2016, and released as a single August 8, 2016.

Spell 137b was originally released December 22, 2014, and contains traditional elements associated with the Christ Mass of the Christians, a legend based on the virgin birth of Horus. The Horn has transmogrified these themes to signify Horus once more.
